        ACTIA and TELEDIAGNOSIS

ACTIA Italia has acquired a great experience in developing Telediagnosis Software for automotive OEMs on the new platform Windows Mobile for Automotive (WMfA).

The natural evolution of On-Board Electronics and Telematics is bringing us through a more and more “electronic car” equipped with low-cost telematics systems that, with WMfA, can be easily linked to the vehicle in order to collect status data and errors from the internal network and sensors. 

As these systems will become of more and more common use, we strongly believe that their presence for applications like navigation, entertainment, fleet management, etc…, will be efficiently used by the OEMs to implement Telediagnosis as a warranty cost-reduction tool that also permits to give a better service to the final customer while increasing his safety.

It is quite easy today to get back data from a vehicle. We consider that this is not telediagnosis as there is a considerable quantity of data on the internal network and sensors. The only result is then to obtain a huge database and huge difficulties to use and filter all this data.

The most profitable strategy is right the opposite : the process must go from the problem solution to the related data you need to collect in the car. This work can be done only through a close contact with the OEM in order to select the list of OEM costly cases, to analyze where telediagnosis generate costs savings on these cases and them to develop the right strategy in order to collect relevant data which will be useful to generate an efficient repair and cost saving actions.
